Local man sentenced for cruelty to animals after he shot his neighbors kitten for no reason

Jacob Palatinas, 22,Butler was sentenced to 3 months to 1 year of incarceration for cruelty to animals. He was immediately paroled without serving the first 90 days.

He also must serve 100 hours of community service. Palatinas pleaded guilty Oct. 2 to shooting and killing a neighbor’s pet cat,.

Palatinas originally faced another charge, aggravated cruelty to animals, a felony that was dropped.

  1. I find it strange that they were able to charge him for anything. The neighbor shot my daughter’s cat and it died right in front of the Middlesex Township police officer and they told me there was nothing they could do about it because it was not illegal to shoot a cat. Middlesex Township Police also couldn’t do anything about the same neighbor throwing and m250 at my head.
